twasadarkSummary: EWE. Dumbledore’s portrait exposes yet another secret complication that will screw up Harry’s life. He’s really getting tired of those.
Why: I was originally drawn into reading this because of the idea. The story starts with Harry being told that he has veela blood, and as we all know, that means that he needs to find his mate. Yes, you can see where this is going, and it's pretty cliche. But here's the twist. Draco charges Harry money for every touch. Somehow, that idea just struck me as so Draco and so full of potential that I couldn't help but read it. And I have to say, I wasn't disappointed. Harry's reactions to the entire situation rang really true to his character. There's lots of snark, a good bit of angst, and Harry shows his fighting spirit in a properly Gryffindor fashion. This story was a great reminder to me of just why I like the Harry/Draco pairing as much as I do.
High Priced by Cheryl Dyson There is also a companion story,
High Priced, the Malfoy edition that tells the story from Draco's point of view. I didn't enjoy it as much as the original, probably because I already knew what was coming, but if you're not quite ready for the story to end, you might enjoy reading this.
