Ok, I know this is kind of old news, but I just found out about this particular aspect of the whole thing. So Terri Schiavo died after not having any nutrition for 13 days straight, and you all know the "controversy." So three days after she died, Terri's husband, Michael, received death threats by random people who apparently wanted Terri to live. OH. Let me get this straight. They are unhappy that Terri died, but they want to kill her husband. Alright. Interesting how these people don't even know her except for from the INTERNATIONAL coverage its getting. Maybe it's overlooked that this kind of thing happens every day and all these random viewers get so caught up in it that they are driven to send bomb threats to the hospital where Terri was staying because they let her die.
It's interesting how much more the viewers of the case care about Terri living or dying than she does herself. Seeing as how she is in a vegetative state, and by definition cannot think or feel. Hm. I guess that leaves it up to her family who want her to die because they hate to see her in that state, and since they have seen her in that state for 15 bloody years, they might think it's time to pull the life plug.
I personally could give a shit whether she lives or dies, I don't know her, but I do know that if she was my wife or daughter or whatever I wouldn't want to see her like that. I really don't care, it's stupid that they are putting her on National TV.
I don't know if you got to see the South Park that was making a political comment on the whole Schiavo case, but Kenny goes into a Vegetative state after being hit by a vehicle (I think it was a truck). Anyway, they lose the last page of his will that says what he would like his family to do if he ever goes into a vegetative state. After the whole of South Park, Colorado gets involved in the case for one reason or another, they find the last page and it says "If I ever am in a vegetative state and need to be fed through feeding tubes please, for the love of God don't... show me on national TV." I think we can all learn a valuable lesson from this episode of South Park.
Like I said, it's none of my business whether Terri lived or died, it just really pisses me off that so many people would go so far as to threaten her husband's life just because he did what he thought was best for her.
Talk about showing the ignorance of the Human Race through example.
