Lame title, I know.
My dad forgot to pay the electric bill, so our electricity got shut off yesterday. He paid it, but since stuff is computerized, they couldn't process it the same day.
I don't really mind the electricity being off for the most part. I look at it as an opportunity to do things I wouldn't normally do, like light a candle and chill out, or read a good book for hours at a time. Of course, my mom either spazzed out or slept the entire evening, which was to be expected.
Today, my dad came home at around 3:30 to find that the electricity was still off, despite the fact that he paid the bill AND the reinstatement fee. He called the electric company to find out what gives, and they said he hadn't called to request reinstatement. Uh, why would he pay the reinstatement fee if he didn't want reinstatement? SILLY.
So yeah. Once again, I'm totally okay with the electricity being out. I'm using battery power and stolen WiFi to type this, but after I get done I'm going to turn the laptop off and read for a while. The only thing I don't look forward to is my mom bitching for another evening, and probably even harder this time.
