Stupid Shit
Since I don't use LiveJournal (as a journal) enough, I'm going to attempt to keep up a little segment titled "Stupid Shit" that revolves around stupid things that happen during my long days at DVC (my community college) this semester. At the end of each segment, I'll have a nice little "On the brighter side" statement that will have at least one positive thing from that day (to ensure that I don't completely lose it).
Without further ado...
Today:
- My car decided not to play any of my CDs; any time I inserted one, it would say "CD error" and the CD would pop out covered in water. Pretty sure this was due to the fog this morning, but... this car isn't old at all. It shouldn't be pulling this crap yet.
- My English teacher explained to us how to annotate, what summarizing meant, and what a metaphor was. I knew all of this in middle school or earlier. Why am I in this class again?
- Also, half my English class doesn't speak English.
- I found an acquaintance in my film class today who was in my body sculpting class last semester. The only problem is, I don't know how to pronounce her name (she says it really fast and it's spelled weird) and she's convinced my name is Maria, not Marie (I went through this all through elementary/middle school already). It's too late now to correct any of this without making it extremely awkward.
- My film class ends at 9:50 at night, which is convenient because so does Georgie's class (we carpool). But tonight, Georgie had to help out with theater until 10:30.
- Which means I was stuck waiting in one of the few buildings that was still open-- the underbelly of the library. It was cold in there, smelled musty, I was exhausted, and I had nothing to do.
- And then at 10:15, this homeless woman walks in, sits down, and falls asleep. So I guess that was her home for the night. :|
- I was at school for twelve hours today. HALF. A DAY. AT THAT PLACE.
On the bright side...
My astronomy teacher continues to be inspiring and hilarious, and Georgie and I had enough time to eat a full meal at Red Robin's tonight.
Without further ado...
