February Fandom Love Fest part 2 -- ACTION FIGURES!

Feb 13, 2015 13:34

One of the many things I love about fandom is the action figures, and the possibilities they present! I confess that I have taken to carrying a couple of them around in my purse, because you just never know when a photo op will present itself *grins ( Read more... )

Aaaah nice to see something from your figures! But only six? I have a few more ;) I have the SG-1 team alone in three different kind of uniforms (green, black, desert) plus green and blue BDUs for Jack and Daniel. And many many of the other figures both from SG-1 and Atlantis ( ... )

I love your dig set up!

I only took 6 figures with me that weekend; I didn't have that much room in my suitcase (I brought crafting supplies also), so my other SG1 and SGA figures had to stay home with Amy and Rory :-/

The Eleventh Doctor fits nicely into my purse, though, so he goes with me everywhere now :-) The Tenth Doctor has been joining him lately, so they can have adventures together. They came with us to a wedding last fall, and another friend brought her 12 inch Tenth Doctor, and we had a great time photographing them together. The best part was that it was a Doctor Who-themed wedding, so they fit right in!

It's really fun to take them to conventions with us, and see who's willing to play with them :-)

Glad to hear you have more! The way you phrased it sounded as if those were the only ones. Sorry ;) One can never have too many figures in my opinion. I even started to collect other figures as well - apparently there were some with MacDonald's meals - women from all over the world in their traditional clothing. We'll see how I can use those one day!

Did you ever read that entry I wrote about how I started and my life with action figures? I interviewed myself, basically ;) It can be found on this page:

That wedding sounds wonderful! I once put my figures out in a pub in Vancouver and it ended with Jack and Daniel fishing out of the beer glass:

Hiya! Another John Barrowman fan I see! I have met him several times actually. The picture happened in January, each year we travel to Glasgow to see him live on stage in pantomime, which is a family musical with lots of singing and dancing and fun. Best thing ever.

I've also met him a few times at conventions - my icon is from one of these. He does much more than just the ordinary hug. If you are in the US, he is doing conventions all over the country, I'm sure one day you will be able to meet him as well! Right this weekend the whole Torchwood gang is at Gallifrey One in LA.

I also have tickets for his concert tour at the end of May in the UK. Can't wait for that, the last tour was in 2011.

If you are a fan of him, would you like to come over to my LJ? You will find detailed concert reports and convention reports and pantomime reports and also pictures of my travels to the UK and much more hopefully interesting stuff. And action figure pictures! Lots of action figure stories.
