Flash flood, and SG1 gets stuck!

Jun 29, 2013 13:55

We had a flash flood yesterday. More water than I've ever seen at this house, which we've lived in for nearly 9 years!

Unfortunately for some of my action figures, disaster is, to quote sgamadison, "grist for the mill"!

It doesn't look so bad from here....

Team SG-1 Adventures!!! I love it! And I find Carter simply adorable with her little cap on, which is just silly of me. These are fantastic!

Well, the rescue team can't have *all* the fun! ;-) (And I wanted to have something to post that wouldn't be a spoiler for the Lost Boy Diaries.)

Carter's hat is cute, but it's annoying, too, because it makes it almost impossible to put other hats on her when the rest of the team is wearing them. Um, not that I've tried or anything *whistles innocently*

I think this is awesome--I love that your team is having adventures too! And if things work out at SQ4, then we can photograph John and Rodney's reunion! (Next installment up today, I promise!)

What OTHER hats have you been trying on the team?? :D

Other hats? Did I say something about other hats? *shifty eyes*

Actually, yes *grins* One of the local craft stores already has Christmas stuff for sale, and I couldn't resist the tiny hats....

Are there pictures of it somewhere?

The figures look just too cute with Christmas hats ;) I have better ones than seen in this picture now as well. Not as stiff, more soft. You can see them here for example: http://dieastra.livejournal.com/50131.html

It were little decoration pieces, so I don't only have those four hats but also gloves and some of the stockings Jack is holding ;)

Clearly you need the desert camo Sam - no hat at all. I usually use this one when I try to show my figures in their free time: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3056/2329199752_78d40b6975.jpg

I recently got a Replicator-Carter (loose, so she didn't come with all the accessories), and I'm seriously considering swapping Carter heads. Guess I should go read up on how to do that :-)

That is not too difficult really! I have done it myself.
Put the figure with the head into hot water which you have boiled before. Leave it for a few minutes. Then you just pull and it will be easy removed. When the plastic is in the hot water, it will become more soft and therefore you don't damage anything.

I will try that today! Thanks for the tip :-)

Success! Very easy with a little hot water :-) Now Sam is not the only one with a hat, so she can wear other ones with everyone else *grins*

THANK YOU!!!

Great! You're welcome. I learnt it from the boys at Gateworld. The Stargate figures can lose their heads quite easily, sometimes unintended ;) A friend had a Daniel who was losing his head all the time so we decided to do the episode where he is a robot and his head is rolling over the floor LOL

Also, I have the Jaffa, and when you want to put up his helmet, you need to remove the head first, as it won't fit over it. Very strange.

That way I also was able to put Jack's and Daniel's heads onto the bodies of Angel and Spike in their Hawaiian shirts. Now sadly, I have not yet found a way to do anything with the Torchwood and Doctor Who figures. I am afraid of breaking something.
