Do yo' doody.
Tonight was the first dress rehearsal. I got there late only because I didn't know what time I should be there. I put my makeup on at home so I didn't really need to go by my call time, but I failed to remember that mic checks had to be done.
I'm feeling a lot better about my character. I only laughed during the sheriff's song because Nick shimmied and then during the lights out scene. The lights... didn't go out so we were all stuck stalling and I had nothing really to do but play ring-arond-the-chest with the Friar so I just lost character. Then Nick Y. told me to "say my line" when I didn't even have one because supposedly the cue for lights out is a kick, not a line. Hah. Or a kick line. *ba dum chhh*.
I'm still nervous about the necklace-ripping. It gets caught in my hair an awful lot.
I did Alicia's hair and makeup!
It was really great when we were all goofing off behind the scenery before act 2. The "maidens" that is. (We should totally make a girl band called "The Maidens"). Places kept being announced and then they never started so we were stuck singing racy Monty Python songs about penises and giggling. Finally we got really restless and decided to just flail and dance around onstage. Finally they said "Ok girls stop it, places" and meant it. Everybody's so great. I can never say that enough.
I don't want to go to bed. I like sleeping I just don't like the process of getting to sleep.
