I had an adventure on Monday. I was driving home from the fabric store (after not recieving any service because they are slow and I had to hurry to get nat to her horn lesson) and my car sputtered and ran entirely out of gas and died. I managed to pull into the parking lot of a church, which was good since I didn't want to die on brownsboro road. I called all the people that i know that live nearby (all 3 of them) and nobody answered so I went in the church and asked the old people stuffing envelopes one of them would be a good samaritan and drive me to the thornton's. They smiled their knowing old people smiles. A woman in her probably early eighties with knuckles the size of olives drove me to the gas station, where it took 10 minutes and 3 people to get the pouring spout out of the gas can. I also got one of those really bad freezees that I'm so addicted to on a hot day. When I got back one of the old men had left me a note, though I'm not entirely sure what it said, but it was headed "Missy-" which made me smile.
I got home and made brownies with the lower fat recipe with one egg and no oil and applesauce, and they didn't turn out so good but everyone lied and said they liked them in spite of it. Oz has a very nice bunch of people. I'm going to cry when it's over. I mean, I don't know most of them very well, but they have all been nothing but kind to me through the whole show.
I got to my voice lesson a bit late, but made good progress anyway.
That evening, Anne also taught me how to knit. Tomorrow she's going to teach me how to pearl. I've got about 4 inches of not-half-bad-for-my-very-first-scarf. It's yellow. When I get good, I'm going to knit everyone blankets in colors and yarns of their choice, but if its expensive yarn, you buy it because I have yet to receive any money for all the hours I put in earlier in the summer.
ende.
