You offered to write at least one of my fandoms, you're taking the time to read this, and you're going to make a story happen for me. So basically, I already know that you're awesome. Thank you for being awesome!
Here are some things I like:
For all the fandoms I chose, the atmosphere is so important. The weird hidden corners of cities, the places people meet to tell their secrets. I love that atmosphere just like I love the characters. I really like how there's fun and danger all mixed together in the neighborhoods of these stories, and I hope that you do, too.
In Treme, it's amazing how we get to see these characters both broken and victorious at different times, but I desperately wanted more of these women and their strength. I would really love to see anything from a case file of Toni's to LaDonna just cutting loose at her bar one night to, oh, anything about Janette either pre-storm or post-season one.
In The Town, I get so caught up in the tension between Jem and Doug, and there's just enough backstory to really tantalize me, what with the hockey and the drugs and the prison time. The more I can get of their peculiar bond, the better. I am in favor of including sex, heists, or sex and heists! (Also, I'm from Boston, so local color is extra delightful in this fandom.)
In After Dark, the real draw for me is the voice. It's written like a movie, but it's funny because the sex and violence is all subplot, and the main plot of the story is just this strange interaction between two near-strangers on a long night with their guard slowly coming down. I love Mari and Takahashi, I'm interested in Kaoru and Eri, too, and I find both the sisterly relationship and the encounters between strangers utterly compelling. There's pretty much no wrong you could do here (though I'd prefer gen to shippy stuff). And if you haven't read it, it's a short book that'll knock off your socks!
ETA: Surprise 4th request! If you're writing me Rihanna fic, here are a couple of pleases: Please let her be awesome, please don't let falling into someone's arms be the solution to her problems, and please feel free to go crazy with fashion and flashing cameras and possibly with superpowers.
In general, I like both backstory and future fic. I like stories that draw on all five senses. I like relationships, sexual and otherwise, that cause lots of pain and are permanent anyway. I like stories full of inside jokes and delicious meals and late night phone calls you just can't turn down. I like stolen moments and elaborate plots. I like humor and angst and fear and wonder. I like lawyers, guns and money.
Here are some things I do not like:
Rape and incest, human/non-human or furry sex, and character bashing. Also, poor grammar and spelling kind of take me out of the story. And I'm not looking for an AU this year; if you can, I'd prefer to see something close to canon. Yeah, that's about it.
