Doctoral Fellow

The last week at the University of South Florida sparked, once again, my morbid infatuation with higher learning, not the movie.

One of my life's greatest disappointments was not being able to continue my education. Having taught at Florida Southern College has been an amazing experience, one that I wish to continue for as long as they'll have me. And while thinking about a Master's Degree in Linguistics (a subject that has always fascinated me), I stumbled upon the Ph.D. program at USF. Immediately, the old feelings rushed back and I thought about how awesome it would be to have mail delivered to my house reading: Peter Smith, Ph.D.

However, so much has changed since I was last a student. I am married, own a house and two cars. I couldn't possibly afford to go back for a Ph.D., no matter how hard I tried.

I have two jobs now that both pay way more than I am worth.
