Whether they were on monitor duty or not there isn't an Autobot on Earth who doesn't have at least one aud open for signals on the faction distress frequency. Ratchet and Lissar have been spending the past two weeks instructing the Autobot Emergency Squad in how to repair a robotic joint. Today the medic is nearly done demonstrating how to run a diagnostic check on the finished system.

"It's of utmost importance that the circuits are connected properly, otherwise proper use of the limb will be impossible. Check the connection carefully and-" he stops as the message comes in, his tools freezing in place.

"Class dismissed." He ignores the surprised looks as he sets the mock up down and takes a step back to leave himself room. "There's a situation," he supplies as he transforms, opening a door. "Lissar?"

It can't be said that Lissar of all people turns pale, but she does dive into Ratchet's seat without bothering to clean up after herself. Someone else can do that. "What has happened, my teacher?" she asks with quiet, barely suppressed fear.

Instead of answering, his speakers snap to life. "-inaccessible by Decepticon blokade units. We can't get through!"

"Then stop trying before we lose someone else," Ratchet answers grimly as he rolls out toward the command center. "Retreat to a safe distance until we figure out what to do."

He's driving fast.

"Yes, sir," crackles Hound's voice in reply. "We were ambushed back around the Kuiper Belt- Hot Rod fell back to hold the 'Cons off, give us some time for a straight run at Earth-"
