sault (pronounced like soo) sainte marie, MI. it's tiny(!) there are street names like easterday & hursley & ashmun (where all the businesses are for the most part). i live in an apartment building that if you look it up on google earth, is a giant x. nice right? haha. it's called West Pier Place & it lies right next to the st. mary's river where giant freighters pass by my window for most of the months of the year. (the most gorgeous sunsets always fall on that river.) there is lots of trees & lots of victorian houses in some of the older parts of town. main attractions: walmart (soon to be super walmart ooohh), dondee lanes bowling alley, varcity cinema, maurices, jcpenny, applebees, goodwill. for the locals anyway, the tourists go crazy over the soo locks. if you drive on portage street in the summer months be prepared to stop your car abruptly b/c tourists drive ridiculously slow down that road and actually pull over & stand on top of their cars for pictures. most of the people are nice, even here you get the idiots who shout at you from their cars and the homeless though. there are a lot of churches, a lot of pizza places, gas stations & hotels (tourist trap). but it's safe & it's quiet and people know each other.
