Rialto set to close August 19
The Rialto is listed on the national register for historic places. The NRHP offers no real protection. I think you have to have landmark status and even then, did someone say fire? One would think that South Pasadena has a decent preservation ordinance, so hopefully, the owners won't beable to demolish it outright. Pray for a good rehab job. (Condos, anyone? Le sigh.)
