Lex picked a beautiful purple flower today that now spring-i-fyes our sink area.
As I washed my hands I caught a crisp whiff of the flower... and a vivid memory. It smelled just the like inside of the smokehouse at my grandparent's old farm.
Turns our what i always thought to be the potent combining smells of old bee hives, fishing supplies, plastic folding chairs from the 50's, and dusty paisley furniture covers... was simply the smell of a delicate flower just outside the smokehouse door.
funny how a second of a smell will bring back years of memories.
