Long Overdue..
I've been doing the LJ thing for a few months now and I haven't updated my profile. All those who have already friended me, thank you, for accepting me as a relative unknown up until now. It's really past-time that I introduced myself. (Eventually I'll add some of this into my official profile.)
The basics: I live in Texas just a few miles across the river from Mexico. And for anyone wondering, Yes, I am a girl. I have two college degrees, a B.S. (I thought I was going to Med school but changed my mind at the last minute) and a Doctorate. And right now the only thing I'm doing with those degrees, besides decorating my walls, is paying off the student loans! I guess in some situations too much education can be a bad thing!!!! Actually I don't really believe that. I think we should always be learning. I would love to be perpetual student, but that just doesn't pay the bills! (More about my job some othertime)
I've lived in Texas and New Endland and even London, England for three months. I was blessed with the opportunity to travel while I was in college. I was in England the year before Lady Diana died (if that tells you how old I am!) I was able to visit Ireland, Scotland, France, Austria, Italy, Germany, Amsterdam and all over the English countryside. It was a life altering experice for me. If you ever have the opportunity to travel outside your country, do it. It will change your life forever.
Now back to me again! I've done some writing that I'm proud of. I've even been published. However, the creative bug strikes me about once every blue moon. It's a good thing writing isn't my driving passion. I love reading. I ihale the written word in all forms. Now that I'm out of school I can put the text books away and focus on something that really interests me. Anime, manga & Yaoi and any combination of them.
Some of my favorites are: Loveless, Inuyasha, Trinity Blood, Witch Hunter Robin, Kaleidostar, Samurai Deeper Kyo, Ruroni Kenshin, Kyo kara Maoh (I know I spelled that wrong!), Yami no Matsui, Junjo Romantica, Vampire Knight, and Full Metal Alchemist... to name a few. My recent addicitions are Bleach particularly Bleach Yaoi and Saiyuki.... and of course the Saiyuki Yaoi!
Some of my TV favorites are: yes Star Trek once upon a time, Battlestar Galactica, Medium, Moonlight, Stargate Atlantis and Doctor Who.
I appreciate all the wonderful authors and artists who have shared their work here on LJ. I try to leave comments! I don't have much creative myself to donate to this community. :( But I'm willing to beta for anyone that's interested. I can critique, bounce plot ideas and spell check and grammer check with the best of them!
I know this is a little non-traditional offering, but I'm quite good at researching family trees. It's a passion of mine. So if anyone is interested in their Family Tree, I'd be more than willing to help you put it together and track down some new info for you. You'll be surprised at what you can find with just a few pieces of information. In the past few years I have reunited my grandfather with his mother's family. His mother died in her 20s from TB and soon after he lost contact with her side of the family. It's been almost 60 years. Next I helped my friend locate and reunite with her birthmother. And just this last month I was able to make contact with my German grandmother's cousins who hadn't been in contact with her since abt WWII when she married and Irish-American soldier and moved to the US. I can't promise anything, but I do have experience! I'd loved to repay all you fantastic authors for your heard work. Please let me know if you're interested.
