No, a 4 day work week is pretty lovely! Whether you like your job or not is a different issue. 3 days off gives a person time to really have a danged weekend.

We have the 4/10s alternative schedule and the 9/8/80 schedule as options on our time cards, so that's probably doable; I know one of my coworkers is on the 9/8/80. But I think I'd probably shoot myself if I had to be at work an extra two hours a day. And having Friday off wouldn't really make up for losing all my evening activities for the rest of the week. Give up fencing, running class, and knitting group and in exchange I get to sleep in on Friday and hang out by myself all day.

I just don't want to be at work a full 40 hours a week, is what it comes down to. 32 sounds like a much better number to me.
