Laurie and Me, day one

Well things are so far better than I thought they would be.  I was actually kind of happy to see Laurie, which freaked me out on MULTIPLE levels.  But I helped wrap Dave's gifts, so that was fun.  Then we tried to help Dan pick out a college ring, and that was amusing.  We agreed on a lot, but not everything.  Then she turned on Monk, and the 'you must sit and watch tv with mom for several hours each night' ritual began.  It's stupid.  She gets angsty if you ditch her.  *rolls eyes* w/e.  So she started asking questions.  She berated Dan on his face, and how I looks horrible....I don't see a difference, but she could have said something other than "it looks like someone ran over your face with cleats."  Yeah.  She really said that.  I put my arm around Dan in a non-verbal defenisive gesture.  Then she started asking me questions about school.   At one point in time we started talking about school rings again- OH!  She asked me if my parents were going to get me a school ring for college and I said No.  She's like no?  And I'm like no, I don't want one.  I mean, maybe if it was freshman year, but not now.  And she kind of got offended.  Heaven forbid I have an opinion that is different from hers!  i HATE that about her!  ARGH!  Then she asked me what classes i was taking and I told her the ones I was fer sure taking then decided that I was taking Gay and Lesbian lit and told her.  She kinda freaked.  She like, "I like the lit part, but not the gay and Lesbian."  And then proceded to ask me how I could like something like that.  I wanted to say, but resisted, I have a lot of gay ans lesbian friends.  OH, and I read YAOI bitch. There ya go.  Instead, I sat there and continued to watch monk.  She kind of stopped talking to me a bit.  Then told me something about how she'd cleaned the bathroom later on.  CRAZY WOMAN!

yeah, I have to keep my mouth shut here.  She wouldn't approve of a LOT of things we do!
