Tonight's class went surprisingly well and apart from getting deeply into pharmacology and eyes, we had some pizza, exchanged the latest anecdotes about our patients (yes we are that bad) and even found the time to plot against the bosses.
The practice is growing and we are now 4 optoms and 3 receptionists, plus the 3 partners, and someone mentioned that we have now reached the number of employees where we should have some sort of union and a representative...
Just the mentioning of that caused some irritation amongst the bosses and it looks like that they are in need of some blood pressure regulating medication now.
hahahaha
Not that we are going on strike to demand higher wages next week (that will be saved for later), but we came up with the idea that working every Saturday can't be good for us in the long run. LOL
I mean, OK, the ones who know the hours I work, it is sort of being somewhere on holiday and not being very productive. I work from 10AM til 1.30 PM and then from 5PM til 8.30PM and on Saturday the mornings.
I wouldn't mind doing a 10 hour continious shift every day and I also don't mind working on a Saturday.
But for the equivalent of £800 a month in my pocket, there is then something not right.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not after the big bucks in my job, because if I would, I'd be already in the UK and work there.
But the sunshine alone doesn't fill up the fridge and it doesn't pay the bills, and they are getting higher every year.
My plans in regard to work and other targets for thsi year haven't changed. But I'm supporting the others with their aim, it's only fair to do so.
As soon as I'm having a little bit of cash together to travel, I will have a look at other places and check out the possibilities there.
So... Beirut, Mozambique, Scotland, Fuerteventura ...
Will write a bit more tomorrow. Was sort of an odd week.
