So it is a new year. I guess that means a fresh start for me on things. Really, other than the grocery store being inconveniently closed, I did not even know it was a holiday today. I brought in the New Years alone, which I guess is maybe a sign of how the year will go. They say that the first words you hear on the New Year will give you some insight into how it will go. If so, then the clerk at DVD rental store saying 少々お待ち下さい (Please wait a moment) is not a good sign. I did get well over 60 New Years cards today with more probably coming in the next day or so. It was touching to see that many of my friends and students cared. Of course, I did not know that many of those students would be writing so I have spent much of the day writing them cards in response. Other things I accomplished today included finishing season 2 of both Supernatural and the O.C. Well, as a I mentioned, the grocery stores are closed so it looks like sandwiches from the local convenience store for dinner. Happy New Year everyone. Best wishes in 2008.
