Don't listen to anyone who says the rally wasn't important, or that it was just a bunch of "fringe elements" celebrating Halloween. It was, to quote our Vice President, a big fucking deal. From the comments I've seen on various blogs, plenty of people are insanely furious that attendance was easily 3 times that of Glenn Beck's rally, so they have to lie about it. There were between 215-250 thousand people. Deal with it. Here's another cute thing I noticed in the Associated Press article that went out to every small-town paper in the US - a Lady Gaga impersonator was described as wearing only "strategically placed crime scene tape," when in fact she was wearing the tape over a black sports bra and shorts. Why lie? - unless you want to sensationalize and discredit the people who genuinely want an end to politicians and media spiraling the drain. I've also noticed that a lot of people seem to be concerned about the number of non-white people at the rally. Keep looking at the photos, and tell me if you've ever seen a more diverse crowd. Most importantly, it was FUN!
