Prompt 007. - October 10, 2005

What do three of your characters do for a living? (Doesn't have to be your protagonist, just any three characters)If they have a job, what sort of job? Is it a career? Did they go to college? Are they in college? If they don't have jobs, are they students? Are they bums living off their mothers?

*Bonus*: How often does it rain in your setting? Are your characters used to wet weather? Do they live in an arid environment? A rainforest?

I'm going to select six characters, as my protagonists have similar jobs.

Yahan and Feslik are officers of the Terionach Army. Yahan's training and education were more extensive, as he came from a family of moderate wealth and prestige, while Feslik is the son of an exile. Both would be considered landed gentry.

Perya is the second daughter of a princess of the Archnin Imperium and is thus a lady of House Phoenix. As the second House of the Imperium (third counting the Imperial House), Phoenix is associated with the important interior principality. The personal holdings to which Perya is heir would amount to a large "duchy" (called a province) or two counties (equivalent to prefectures). Because Perya's mother has no sufficiently mind-gifted siblings, the Archnin system of imperial monarchy makes the senior lord of the Lower Conclave governor of her province until she reaches the age of inheritance (eighteen). The ranking elders of House Phoenix within the Collegium would administer her lands and appoint non-hereditary magistrates to oversee the two counties in person. Perya's career would keep her in the capital city of Archniniei-Los, as a knight commander of the Imperial court.

Alinyel is a young novitiate of House Swordfish, and orphan child of unknown parents (who were really of the House of the Wyvern). He is apprenticed to Graniel, and elder of the Collegium.

Onalos is a battle mage of the Order of the Salamander, trained at the High Tower of the Moon, the headquarters of the Eight Orders.

The Queen of Ice is very powerful descendant of an important Archnin personage, and part Terionach. Being of mixed heritage and a child of powerful mindspeakers, she is a triple threat (redactive, coercive, and farsensing).

The Terionach lands are more arid, and the Archnin territories include more of the arctic regions, but both the Archnin and Terionach nations span a range of climates from tropical to desert to arctic tundra. Rainfall varies greatly. Most of the action takes place in cool, temperate areas with average rainfall.
