Had a good time this weekend in Milwaukee with
the_chimp_pimp with some good ole' fashioned drinking, geeking out, and watching bad movies.
Also saw
Body of Lies, which I recommend. A good dose of action and intrigue to hold you over until Quantum of Solace comes out. Yes, I like Leonardo DiCaprio movies, and I'm not the least bit ashamed to say it.
This morning, I went out to my car to find my front passenger-side window busted in, glass bits all over the interior of my car They took my GPS and my iPhone charger (both of which were in the glove box). That's the second one that's been stolen from my car. I called the Milwaukee Police, and was told that they can't help me now, and to call a different number in an hour, when their telephone reporting center is open.
So remember folks, don't get your car broken into before 7:30 AM in Milwaukee. It's not convenient for them.
My insurance company will reimburse me for the damage and the stolen items, although I don't think I'll get another GPS. I know my way around the area pretty well now, and my iPhone can pick up the slack when venturing out.
Driving back from Milwaukee to Madison in 40 degree weather sans window was a real hoot.
Now I'm waiting for the agent to call me back. This should be fairly painless, though. I pay a $100 deductible and they fix my car with a lifetime guarantee of repairs, reimburse me for the stolen goods, and even pay for a rental car while it's being worked on. I have to say, as long as I've had Progressive, they've never let me down.
Update: Looks like the "Comprehensive Coverage" that Progressive touts doesn't actually cover personal items in the car that aren't permanently attached. Hrmph. Also, because i still technically have an Ohio-based policy, I have to pay the deductible. Once I renew in WI, there isn't a deductible for comprehensive claims.
