45 and the shortest job ever !!
Well today was interesting..
I started by new job at 8:15 and by 8:34 it was all over.
I have agreed to take Suse to see her mum on the weekend of the 29th feb to 3rd march. This is the first and only time her mum will see her before she has the baby. This has been planned and paid for well in advance. I told the gamecy this and they were fine, they told the company in question and they said ok.
Now the company i would have worked for does find this a busy time as it is mother's day weekend. Now i agreed to cancel going to an event to cover valantines weekend. Yet after i had sat down and started going through tyeir process i am pulled to one side.
If you want the job you will have to cancel your holiday.. is their statement.
I say what ?
They say cancel your holiday and we will upgarde your contract to a team leader.
I say. You knew about this and were fine.
They say in that case we cant use you.
Agency person looks very confused and embarised.
I say. YYou know why i want the time.
They say yes, but either you worl those days or you dont have the contract.
My answer. Your loss not mine. I get up and put my coat on.
They go to their office and the agency person goes after them.
Result is that the agency will pay me for the full day. They were very very embarised and annoyed at the managers approach and apologised.
