Found it! And it only took me, what, a couple of months? *rolls eyes* Do I need to get organised or what? I'm the nightmare that has Ianto waking up screaming
( Read more... )
Loved the peices I got to read of this before, and love it even more as a whole. Can't wait to see how this finishes. *wriggle* Poor boys, all at crossed purposes. *pets*
I was aiming for that. For them both to be misreading what was right in front of them. Second part is up now. I was delayed by cute men in uniform. *blissful sigh*
Ooooh, this is such an awful fic for Ianto - he misinterprets Jack's every move - and Jack is sufficiently clueless not to reassure him about why he's interviewing replacements - eep!
Some people do what I call angst-porn, heaping on the awful things and the pain to an over-the-top level - you bring the angst, but skilfully so it doesn't seem like a manipulation of the reader. I really like that.
*blushes furiously* Thanks! I originally wrote this early on, when Ianto was much more emo that he evolved into, which is why I now deem it an AU. But it's easy to misinterpret when you're grieving. Everything comes at you through a fog and I dread to think what it would be like if you were forced to work cheek-to-jowl with the people responsible for your bereavement!
I have to admit that I have about your last three fics printed out and in a pile waiting to read uninterrupted and will comment after I've read them! But I'm so glad you posted this. I'm one of those people who really wanted to see this continued and can't wait to read. Will def go to the top of my pile :-)
Ianto's a lot more emo in this one. It's an earlier one, before I realised that the emo covers a steel core and is heavily laced with bloodymindedness!
Now there's a description! I still have the original version that I printed out so I think I'll re-read that one, and then this one to see how your view of Ianto changed from early to post season one.
first time read for me, and OMG can anything be more angsty, and I definitely mean this the good way. ;-) Poor, poor Ianto! communication: something sooo difficult, both Ianto and Jack misinterpreting everything the other says or does. please, please finish part 2 soon
It starts to lighten in the second part, honest! I often find that if you already thomething, it's hard as hell to actually listen and hear what's really going on.
Okaaaay, lets try and retype that above sentence so it actually makes sense, shall we? It should read 'I often find that if you think you know something, it's hard as hell to actually listen...'
