Burning Bright - Part One

May 20, 2007 23:18

Okay, a little while ago I posted a Five Ways fic on one of the boards. Can't remember where but I'm pretty certain I did post it as I got some very nice and generous comments and I hope I'm not so far gone as to hallucinate that kind of thing. Anway, it was 'Five Ways that Jack Didn't Come Back (And One Where He Did' and several people mentioned ( Read more... )

Thanks! I thought I'd be nice and allow Gwen to survive, just this once. (Just to throw her off-balance and lull her, you understand.)

Hee hee, I love that Jack is so competely thrown, and the doctor is just laughing at him.

On to part 2

*grin* Jack can never quite shake off the suspicion that the Doctor is always at least three steps ahead of him.

Despite the situation, I can't help but appreciate the Doctor's dry sense of humour in this- especially when it's directed upon Jack! Heh.

As for the situation, gosh! You don't half give Ianto a reason to point a gun at Jack do you!? Half the planet now extinct, no real cure in sight, just another day at Torchwood, eh?

Am really enjoying this, off to part two now!
Peace,

He has a yo-yo!! Of course he does!

I have no words to describe this fic. The doctor it's extremly in character and everytime he opens his mouth I feel like I'm watching an actual crossover DrW/TW!

I also like Jack's portray and the way he reacts around Ianto, because allthough I'm a fangirl and this pining for Ianto/Jack scenes and affection, I can0t stand the fics that portray their relationship as a full fledged one, because Jack is.. well... Jack... but however your fic evolves it doesn't start that way and I love Jack's frustration and the Doctor's explanation that he is just spoiled-

I don't know if I'm making any sense, but the basis is that Ilove your fic and that I specially enjoy your Doctor and Jack yelling bloody hll at Ianto =D

Yep, the Doctor has a yo-yo. Saved the world with it once, y'know.

I think I'm the only one who thinks that Ianto is Jack's equal. Less experienced and much younger, but Jack can see so much in him. I have them as being stronger when they're together, but I know that most of the fandom prefers to view it as a less-even relationship, rather than a partnership. And that does seem to be the way the series prefers to see them, as well, more's the pity.

Still, I'm glad that you enjoyed the story!

1) Good story

2) I like to think of them as equals, too. After reading antelope_writes's metas about body language (especially this one) I'm inclined to believe that Ianto holds more power in the relationship that most people think.

3) I heart your icon.

I thoroughly enjoy everything I've read by you, but this is something special. So accurate and real. Everyone is perfect--I'm worried and laughing in equal measure!
