Art fakery in LOTR
Just curious -- a while back, there was a big to-do about someone passing off portraits of various LOTR actors as hand-drawn that were in fact Photoshop manips and photos run throguh various filters.
I recall a very, very detailed discussion of precisely how it was done, possibly on Journalfen, where a real artist and Photoshop expert described precisely how a given portrait could be turned into something that appeared hand-drawn.
Would this ring a bell for anyone, and if so, would you comment with links to the relevent discussions? IIRC, it was pretty involved, with the "artist" in question claiming that her sketchbook was stolen and her dog died and aliens kidnapped her mother or whatnot when the fakery looked close to being exposed. I can't for the life of me recall who it was, though.
