Khan Tengri is one of the most beautiful peaks in the world. It's summit and sharp ridges form an almost perfect pyramid covered in snow and ice. Khan Tengri's name means "Lord of the Spirits" or "Lord of the Skies" in the Uighur and "Ruler of the Skies" in Turkic as the mountain was worshipped as a god in in the indigenous shamanistic culture. The mountain is located on the Kyrgyz-Kazah-China border in the heart of the Central Tian Shan.

Ama Dablam is a mountain in the Himalaya range of eastern Nepal. The main peak is 6,812 metres (22,349 ft), the lower western peak is 6,170 metres (20,243 ft). Ama Dablam means "Mother's necklace"; the long ridges on each side like the arms of a mother (ama) protecting her child, and the hanging glacier thought of as the dablam, the traditional double-pendant containing pictures of the gods, worn by Sherpa women.

11th September.
On September 4, 2002, an international expedition led by Sergey Melnikoff climbed an unnamed peak in the Tian Shan Mountains in Kyrgyzstan and named it "September 11" in memory of those who lost their lives in the 9/11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the US. The peak is 13,124 ft (4,000 m) high and has a twin summit, resembling the New York World Trade Center Twin Towers that collapsed as the result of the attacks.

At a White House ceremony on September 22, 2002, the first President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Dr. Askar Akayev, presented a breathtaking photograph of the newly named peak "September 11" to US President George W. Bush.
