I worked at A-Fest in Dallas this weekend for the Ikkicon booth (yay! Free food and room!). Though the con itself was a little more than disappointing, ZMOG the cosplay! There was soooooo much Yu Yu Hakusho cosplay, I though I was going to have a mini heart attack. Several good Kurama's walked around as well as a Hiei, Koenma, Yukina, Mukuro (never seen her cosplayed before!), Yuusuke, Youko, and Sensui (never seen him cosplayed, so I was like freaking out when I saw him b/c he's my fave villian!). The dealer's room also had some YYH action figures, and I got the Youko and the Hiei action figure. Making matters better, Chuck Huber attended as a guest and I got him to sign my Hiei action figure XD!
Also in the dealers roon, AnimePop, a booth I never see at cons anymore, was there. Of course, they had their assortment of various J-rock/pop/visual kei magazines, and guess what magazines just happen to be there? Two magazines, Rockstar and Fool's Mate, with Gackt on the cover XD! In a total fangirl moment, I bought both and drooled over all the pretty pictures (if only my Japanese wasn't basic >_<). On the Fool's Mate cover, Gackt just looks at you like he wants to F@#$ you. Why is that with Gackt? All other Japanese musicians are cute (or intimidating), but Gackt, his pictures instead of exuding cuteness, exude pure sex (yum!).
I dressed up as Sexy Alex Delarge for the con and the costume was a hit! I drew a lot of people to the Ikkicon booth, which of course made Ikkicon director, Mike, very happy. So hopefully he'll invite me back to do some more cons.
