I like that there's no Thefacebook group at UNT for TAMS students, but there is one called "Students Against TAMS Students". It seems like someone named John Ashcroft is already ridiculing them, though.
today dr. gau the english prof basically told us we were horrible for 'cheating' and said she'd never let her kid come here blah blah and that we were all immature, but that she would try not to generalize. It's teachers like her that have no respect or perspective on the TAMS program that give us a bad rep to the UNT kids..
Gau is just a bitch. Her tests are fill in but her TA's have "set" answers and if you put something they didn't think of they count it wrong when it is right. I talked to her in her office about this politely, and she said it didn't matter because the bonus covered it. When I tried to explain to her that a bonus does not cover it because everyone else had the same bonus and my test still has a lower score since correct answers were counted wrong, she exploded on me. She shouted on about how she hates TAMSters because they come in "demanding" A's all the time and will do anything to get them. She refused to change my grade and said that I was saying her TA's were incompetent and prejudice.
Yeah, I had Gau last year, and she was horribly biased against TAMSters. But classes consisted more or less of just the two of us discussing the books, so she had a lot of respect for me by the end of the semester, and I talked to her in private about her bias against TAMSters.
It's nice to know that that made zero impact on her. *sighs*

She said she used to teach one of the TAMS-only sections and got sick of it.
I more or less asked her why if one bad apple could spoil her opinion of the bunch, how come several great students couldn't help change her opinion back. She seemed thoughtful about it at the time.
