I've been waiting forever to get out these
When I dragged them out of the closet, I thought Cookie was going to turn herself inside out.
I knew exactly how she felt.
We tromped through the woods, following our red-dotted trail until we got to the lake. As we broke through the bushes, she flew across the ice, running ahead, then back-trekking to me.
Over and over again, she did this. I could only stand there and laugh at her.
Here are some images from the lake. You really see things from a whole different perspective when you're standing on it
I went much further down the lake, than I usually go. Typically, I stick mostly to the campground trails. But I wanted to take some different photos, from different angels.
And besides, the eagles weren't there to gawk at.
The manuscript I'm working on has a lake setting, so as we walked I remembered the sights and sounds of July. The shape of the lake, the shading of one side versus the other, the slopes, the inlets. I could picture my characters here.
Eventually, we turned around to head for home. I really enjoyed taking in different sights and sounds this time around. I know it won't be the last time my pup travel this route.
