Alright kids. so that last post about Eric had to do with him getting himself on the news. Thats funny enough to me, but he got on because he was at the initial American Idol tryouts at Gillette Stadium and generating lots of attention. so 1) heres the video clip of that:

Eric on the news(Windows/AVI/1.5MB)

Eric on the news(MAC/Quicktime MOV/2MB)

the video quality is poor, eventually i'll record it in directly from tape, rather that from the television.

and 2) so at those tryouts, he got into the next round, along with Jess & Lori. Yesterday was round 2, us 4 (i went as erics guest, of course) went into Boston for the day. The whole experience was amazing, seeing all the retarded contestants who are already banking on winning the whole damn thing, being on camera constantly, and watching people trying to figure out exactly what to do with Eric. At this point the contest is a battle to get into round 3, which is the Simon/Randy/Paula round - so the performances are in front of the executive producers of the show. Unfortunately Jess & Lori didn't make it past this round even though there duet mini stageshow was Terrific!! Eric Yankus-Franco however, did make it into round 3.

i was sitting in the VIP guest section waiting for the kid to come out, waiting to be pissed off with him in front of the cameras when he didnt get in - but he instead kicks the door open holding the gold Round 3 ticket in his hand, i couldn't help but start laughing - he's got all these lights on him, the Camera, the boom mic ... it was incredible. Eric did a short interview on camera, talking about how hes the next "Mannerican Idol" and blabbing about his tattoo, his eyeballs, earlobes ... you know the drill.

now, they're obviously letting him in to get reamed out by the judges, but thats the whole idea - and everything is working out to plan. i'm so goddamn excited. He maintained his rocker attitude through the day, which made him unapproachable - that and the mickey mouse childrens shirt showing off his midriff, and his moustache that he kept massaging.

Honestly, i do really mean honestly, i will be surprised if eric is not on the show when it airs the Boston episode, no one came close to standing out the way eric did ... and he was filmed pretty much from the moment we got in line. i'm sure i'll be popping up throughout the footage as well, as i was either with eric - or finding myself behind other peoples shots. I kept my serious face on all day though, so its gonna be pretty intense!

Jess, Eric & Lori - day 1

Eric, Jess & Lori - dominating the line

myself - i'm 12'6

eric right before his # was called

+ me & eric after he made it through round 2

So round 3 does not take place until october, i'm sure there will be an update around then about it - unless something absolutely amazing happens and i want to wait to see it on tv. and the tv thing wont happen until January or something, its gonna take a long time of waiting!

Thanks Jess & Eric & Lori for letting me have the most fun day i've had all year!!
