Shin's eyes were wide open, but he couldn't see anything beyond the rough fabric of the blindfold. Judging by the stone against his back, he'd beenchained to a wall some somewhere -- maybe underground? In truth, he didn't know where he was or who was with him. He didn't remember anything after Rido had taken him, and he'd woken up like this.

This wasn't then. He closed his eyes and forced a few deep breaths through his teeth, reminding himself that this wasn't then. The chains holding him were cold metal, not energy. They couldn't reach into him, yanking at the bond to his Yoroi like Arago had.

Just cold metal. He could get out of this. He could.

If he couldn't eat them, he might as well talk at them. Not necessarily with them, of course. The Master sniffed at Shin. "Chains. I wonder, is that really necessary?"

Shin heard the sound of someone moving toward him, then the unmistakable sound of -- was he being smelled? His muscles tensed up and he fell still, ceasing his struggles against the chains. It was no good; they had him bound tight anyway.

"Certainly not. Why don't you let me down and we can talk this out?" He suggested as sweetly as he could. It was hard to keep the bite out of his voice, when all he wanted was to be let down. Just let him get his hands on something sharp.

The Master laughed. It was really sweet how they thought asking that would work.

"Oh, of course, I'll do that," he said. "Right away." He pursed his lips. "Then again, we're talking now. Why do you need to be freed to keep talking?"

"I don't need to be," the boy said agreeably. After all, his captor, whoever he was, had an excellent point. He could talk just fine, bound to the walls as he was.

Still, he tested the chains again, hissing as the metal dug deeper into skin that was already raw and torn. This isn't like before. You've made it through worse, he kept telling himself, but the sheer memory of being tied up, of having his strength slowly stolen from him, made panic rise in his mind. He didn't even have an armor anymore, what did they want with him.

Once more, he forced his voice to be even and calm. "But you can't blame a man for trying." And I can't get my hands on you chained up like this.

"I could," said the Master. "I can blame you for anything I want. You're tied up. Or chained. Whatever. But you'll come down eventually. That's what I'm waiting for." He smirked. "Obviously I'm not going to stand here waiting for it but I am waiting."

Shin paused warily at that, his muscles tightening up ad his fists clenching. He was trying to stay calm and collected, but hints of panic were slipping through.

"What are you going to do with me?" he asked, his voice still struggling to remain even. With them? He didn't know if others had been kidnapped, but he found it hard to believe this was a personal grudge.

"Oh, I'm going to eat you," said the Master frankly. "Unless you mean 'you' in terms of the group, in which case, I have no idea. Well, some idea, but nothing specific." He clenched his fists, overcome with glee for a moment. "Exciting, isn't it?"

He couldn't really stay calm at that.

Shin began thrashing against the chains, trying to break them with sheer strength. But he wasn't Shuu, he didn't have that power. No matter how he fought, he was caught tight by the metal.

"You're not ging to touch me," he hissed. "Or anyone else."

He wanted to tell him that he wouldn't get away with it. Shin had survived attacks by the warlord of the underworld, the black Kikoutei, and ... a crazy psychiatrist.

But he was alone now. Not only did he not have a Yoroi, the guys weren't here. If they had been, he knew he'd be rescued -- and whoever this man was, he'd get the ass kicking he was totally begging for. Even if he just had Ryo or Shuu -- any of them. But Shin alone was worthless. They all knew it.

"You're not going to," he said evenly, still fighting the bonds. "People will notice we're missing. The Police Force. You're going to get caught."

"By the time they notice you're missing, you'll already be back," smirked the Master. "Dead, but back." He stepped forward quickly to pat Shin's arm, stepping back again so he wouldn't feel tempted. "Just accept it."

"Mmhm," said the Master, sounding bored. "You won't be able to stop that happening all night, you know." He smiled. "Whether you like it or not, you are not escaping, and you are being eaten. If you have nothing else to say to me but stereotypical defiance then I may as well go."
