Tam Lin Websites lists - articles and pages on Tam Lin other than mine. For articles and insights (as opposed to perfectly nice websites that have versions of the ballad but no other content), and because no one goes past page 3 in google search results.
Tam Lin recordings - separated out into ballad versions, parodies, and reels, lists 122 entries, more or less. That's by artist, because Fairport Convention's version may be on twelve different records, but it's still only one version. I hit pretty solid version fatigue early on in making this list, and I know there's at least a few more versions I need to transcribe and add to my collection, but it will wait.
When I first started keeping lists of recordings of Tam Lin, I didn't include the reel- I was interested in the story, not the tune- but found that every time I went to update my list, I had to rediscover which unlisted versions were ballad and which were just the reel. More recently, I've found other sites that list recordings, but very few make the distinction between the ballad (has words!) and the reel (nice tune), so I've added that into the site.
Fair Margaret and Young Whatshisname, a parody by Holly Tannen, has been added to the transformative works section. Based on a workshop teacher asking her what Tam Lin would be like if it were set in California.
Enjoy, and let me know if I've missed anything that ought to be on these pages.
