National Book Festival

(information from puzzledance)

Hey DC-area folks and any book fans who like road trips!

Next weekend is the National Book Festival on the mall.

Some of this year's speakers:

Terry Pratchett*
Holly Black
Joyce Carol Oates
Mercer Mayer

a bunch of other scribblers you may have heard of will be there too.

* someone did not do the proper copy editing on his blurb on the website. It says "The author of two science fiction novels and seven books for younger readers..." Isn't that off by well more than an order of magnitude? I think I've got more than two shelves packed with PTerry stuff. The man is responsible for the slaughter of a lot of forests, but he's at least trying to help save the bits that have orangutans in them, so he can probably be forgiven.

I'm not certain that I'm going myself (there is another offer I am considering) but I suspect a few of the rest of you might be interested.

eta: Much as I might like to see PTerry one day, I think I'm going with the offer that included the phrase "don't worry about navaguessing, there are no roads". I hope everyone that does go has a good time.
