Happy Anniversary
Happy Anniversary to me. We celebrated our 10th anniversary Friday. Ten years - wow, that's a long time. And I can honestly say that even though there have been some rough patches, most of them have been very good years. Every couple has hard times, and there was a time when I was ready to call it quits, but I am glad that I stuck it out and the last three years have been especially happy. We have four beautiful kids and a nice house and nice cars and jobs that we like and good friends, so there's not much more you can ask for.
We had a party Friday night and there were about 50 people there. We went through two kegs and 80 hot dogs and a lot of karaoke. It was a blast. One of my best friends from high school, who was then my college roommate, then my maid of honor, then the god mother of my first child, and with me when my last child was born, came all the way from Philadelphia to surprise me at the party. That was awesome. My other two best friends through jr high & high school were there, too, and my now best friend that moved to Missouri a few months ago, was there as well. There was lots of family and lots of friends and it was great. It did make me mad/sad that only one of my husband's relatives came and it was his second cousin from OKC. His brother and uncle and cousins were all apparently too busy to make it. None of his old friends came, but a lot of his current ones did, and I'm beginning to think he's better off without some of those old friends anyway.
There was a lot of laughing and singing and drinking and it was just so much fun. We got some great pictures! And one of our older married friends told us something that I think is true - if you can do 10, you can do 20.
So here's to many more years with a great man!! (Even though he did show his nuts entirely too many times...) :)
