I am wearing on my right hand a ring picked up by a G.I. in Sicily in '44. Crudely engraved on it is "1944 Sicily." It's a classic war souvenir, and I love it.
We're at my aunt & uncle's now, where I found this snapshot on their mantle. Regular readers will recognize some of the folks in it.
Front row (L to R): Aunt Estelle, Great-Grandma Mary, Great-Grandpa George.
Back row (L to R): Uncle Tony and Aunt Florence, Uncle Walt, my Grandmother Marie (who, as I type, is in the next room), and Uncle Stan.
Christmas, 1942.
