i'm going to take a scary number of trains tomorrow (scary acos this is england, and trains are *never* on time) and then, if shiva wills it, fly away home. or rather, to my aunt's house. she's graciously (and nervously, acos She Is Like That) agreed to host me before i take my exam. my last one for a few years (yay ( Read more... )

If there is and they have a website, you may be able to find a list of what you can and can't fly with.

For the US, knitting needles are supposed to be okay, although if you get a cautious security person, they might take issue with that.

But it's not just the needles - are you planning on bringing scissors to cut the yarn? They may have restrictions on those, too.

Ah, well, for the US, the page at http://www.tsa.gov/public/interapp/editorial/editorial_1252.xml does specifically mention knitting needles.

(The amount of keys, Mia? That's bizarre. I took a self-defense class at one point, and one of the things the teacher showed us was how to use keys as a weapon. The ring he used had three keys - not an extreme number - and it looked pretty effective when he did his Wolverine impression with it. He also showed us how to hold a ball-point pen to do damage when punching ( ... )
