Short Wikia || (( This application contains spoilers! ))

Tokito's family had originally moved to Vietnam where his father was appointed as a secretary (though on probation.) They emigrated from Japan to Ho Chi of Vietnam as a family. By February 1983 while traveling through the mountain ranges, the bus his family was on fell off of a cliff. The extent of the damage escalated into a fire. 19 deaths were confirmed, two of which his older brother and his mother. Only one body wasn't accounted for and reported as a missing person, that being Tokito, who was five at the time. After a three day search for him, all effort was ended and brushed off with hopes that Minoru was still alive. Ten years after Minoru Ushio...was finally announced from a missing person to deceased. In relation to his lost his father returned to Japan for three years before returning back to Vietnam once more.

Tokito is first introduce while on the run. Who exactly he's running from isn't known yet. He's shown again in an obscure alley tired and hungry. It's lightly hinted that he managed to switch locations because his next scene shows him passed out on a wooden crate, presumably in another alley. Kubota stumbles across him and picks him up to take him home; he commented what a large stray he was.
It was never implied just how long Tokito was out for, possibly a week? Before he regained consciousness. Kubota's first impression of Tokito was humorous. Tokito became a victim of amnesia, unable to remember his life before he passed out in the alley. There were still parts of his insecure instinct that lead him to avert away from adult figures. (Which is not entirely uncommon for amnesic victim.) At this time Tokito didn't actually go by a name, he didn't know his name, he didn't know anything. All he knew is he had a difficult time trust others. Especially those older than him. Tokito absolutely refused to get anywhere near Kubota and even demanded him to do things so they wouldn't have to get close.

Eventually when he finally was able to get out, he didn't run very far. He didn't know why he was running, or where to run to. It turns out he only made it to a nearby park where the cold, and the fact that he hadn't eaten anything for awhile substantially weakened him. Tokito simply passed out again. If not for the kid, Shouta, who helped get him help he would have been in a much more serious condition. Kubota gave Shouta the food and asked him to give it to Tokito since Tokito was always on high alert. They became quick friends, and very good ones at that. The visits became daily, and things always seems smoothed sailing. There was one particular storm that stirred things up. Where Shouta wanted to help Tokito try and remember his forgotten past. It lead to a violent outburst and Shouta immediately stopped coming over due to shame and guilt.

After Tokito broke Kubota's arm, he almost left, Kubota managed to convince him to stay though. This is when Kubota started to teach him household chores and some cooking. Shouta still avoided coming over, but eventually Tokito was slowly starting to trust Kubota and other older figures in general. It was between February and March that he finally got his name "Tokito" too. It was one day when Shouta left his red feather at the front door and thought he lost it. Tokito scaled the balcony to return it to him and asked him if he could start coming over to play again. Around April Kubota eventually started Tokito go outside. It was mostly for the store and arcade.

There is about a one year time skip since Kubota picked Tokito up before the next major event. Kubota helped out a girl who tried to shop lift at the convenient store he was getting things at. He brought her back to his apartment where Tokito strongly disagreed, but eventually tolerated the act at best. It turned out she was tied in with the Yakuza loosely and also involved with the W.A. drug. When the Yakuza tried to kidnap her, Tokito made a quick save. Courageous as he was he wasn't a match for a group of Yakuza members. It wasn't until Kubota made his flashy entry were they really safe. The Yakuza boss use Tokito as a wage for his own safety until he was able to escape. In the end they befriended the woman, as she moved on with her life.

In order to pursue the case of the W.A. cases they are lead to a cult group. It's after that they realize that the Yakuza are apart of it, but unsure if the drug itself is involved too. They met Ryoji, a news reporter. He asked them to team up with him into order to get the "inside scoop." They merely agreed since they also had intentions of their own regarding the issue. To continue their investigation they had to attend the next gathering where Kubota mentioned they needed a cover to be less suspicious. Least to say, they dug their noses too deep too fast and got caught. When she makes the attempt to drug them with something know as the "truth serum" the syringe sends Tokito into a violent outrage in an attempt to protect himself. It's then when he reveals a name known as "Akira." Kubota brought him out of his fit and he returned to normal. They managed a narrow escape and went about their ways once more. Almost two full years have passed.

Kubota gets mixed up in some funny business and becomes more involved than he actually is. He avoids telling Tokito the details, and by this time Tokito learned of Kubota's old acquaintance, Anna. Even Ryoji becomes involved as the three of them work to find the actual culprit behind Rika, Anna's friend. For some mysterious reason or another the higher-ups gave the okay to release Kubota from containment despite the speculation of drug trafficking. Tokito strove to the very end to prove Kubota's innocence so that he may be released. Almost another year had passed as winter rolled in. Almost making it their third year together.

Before Tokito's abduction, he was learning to become more social. Rebellious even. Tokito managed to make friends with an old man and his dog. The dog is quite fond of Minato and even neglects games to get attention (and give attention) to Tokito. Most of it was (attempted) to be hidden from Kubota, though he found out rather quickly. One day while at the old man's house, some punks came by to harass the guy. Tokito was originally told to hide, but after so long he got fed up with them and came out of hiding to tell them to leave (as he was threatening to call the police) they had knocked something over in their shuffle and claimed to be back. The minor damage was enough to make Tokito feel guilty and avoid going back over for quite some time.

Sometime later Tokito was abducted by the Izumo Youth Group while he was returning from having Kubota's pocket watch repaired after having broken it. They took Tokito to lure out Kubota. While holding Tokito hostage they were trying to push information regarding the W.A. drug from him. He of course knew nothing, but acted as if he did if only to prolong his survival. It wasn't long before Kubota reached the destination where they held Tokito captive. It was on a tanker a couple miles out from shore. Kubota killed at least twenty people just to get to them and even more after that. Tokito was eventually freed from his bindings and able to return to his friend before they were threatened at gun point. The two made a hasty escape and jumped into the ocean. Tokito blacked out before Kubota awakened him, and that is where they left off.

[ Personality ] :
Tokito has no manners to speak of. He can be polite and proper at times, but those moments are few and far between. Having forgotten all of his past he was practically re-raised to some degree. There are many, many things he doesn't know. He's very optimistic in that regard though; Tokito is willing to learn new things if he finds the subject in question piques his interest. He's very much like a child because of this. A lot of his traits are like that of a child. For instance, he is naive. Because of his lack of memories and knowledge, Tokito is prone to believing just about anything if you're convincing enough and don't come off as suspicious or distrusting. He also has a preference for sweet things. Tokito avidly consumes treats and is always wanting to try new brands and flavors just as they come out. Additionally there is a level of innocence Tokito seems to hold. Despite being exposed to many disturbing things and his own pursuit to figure out about W.A. he is still able give the look a child would give when confronted with something he's never experienced before.

On the topic of his pursuit, Tokito is a very ambitious person. A great dialog regarding his strong ambitions would be "You look down when you talk to a headstone! When you talk to a live person you look up! I'm still alive! So treat me like it! Look at me!" While there may be times life gets him down and kicks him while he's there, he still always manages to find a way to stand back up and keep moving forward. Whether it'd be self driven, or inspired by a close comrade, he never stays down for very long. There came a time when Tokito decided that he would stop running away, and that was when he had to save Kubota from the Yakuza. Ever since he has always dived nose first into possibilities of discovering the drug and the key to his forgotten past.
He's very loyal to whoever he befriends. Even if the relationship starts out rocky Tokito has learned how to warm up to people and make friends. He enjoys the time he shares with others (especially with Kubota.) While he does like to make new friends of all kinds. Animals, people, the like. He still has a strong fondness to Kubota. It's truly the only person he's deeply close to on every level. His loyalty for him goes beyond this distance. Not only is he fiercely loyal, but he's also protective, and over possessive of Kubota. If he's under the impression another is getting too close to him or trying to steal him away, he will intervene and see to it that it never happens. This is the only person he's shown doing this too.

There is also a strong streak of stubbornness he has. Coupled with impulsive tendencies and short temper and you have yourself a fire cracker. Tokito hardly hesitates to act on the spot, he also acts instantaneously depending on who and what it involves. Because he's impulsive he acts without thinking, making most of his actions tactless per se. Rarely does he think about consequences to his actions. Sometimes consequence doesn't even matter to him, it's the reward of his action that pleases him if he's knows what he's doing is right. Again, lighting on his stubborn streak, it takes a lot to convince him otherwise at times. He'll also be harder to budge if he's trying to get his way, for whatever reason he would want it.

Tokito is ridiculously honest. He's extremely honest, so much so that he practically utters any though that comes to mind. If he thinks someone is being stupid he will state it. If Tokito thinks something is old and dirty, he will state that too. He lacks any filter to censor his thoughts and opinions of anything. It was mentioned by Kubota that Tokito can only tell the truth, and there was no reason stating why. While he cannot lie, he can avert away from topic or not mention it altogether. Just because he can't lie doesn't mean he can't keep secrets. There isn't many things Tokito keeps from others, but he will still try. One of which is his beast had. The result of an unknown, presumably by W.A. but it has not yet been proven.

Tokito is a character of few things. Because of his amnesia, he doesn't have a lot of substance to work with. When he expresses his feelings, they're usually true. He rarely has ulterior motives or acts of deceit. When Tokito is is kind, he means it. He gets frustrated when people try and push him away whether its because they want to protect him or straight up not open up to him. Trust is a vital key in most of his relationships and when he makes friends he wants to be able to trust them. All his acts to his friends are meaningful to some degree. Some more than others. It doesn't bode well with him when they hide things from him for the previously stated reasons. Even more so when it's with Kubota. One of his more obvious traits is his morals. While some are, in fact, warped. Most of his others remain in tact. One of his being his sense of justice. It's this moral of his that drives him to play hero when he thinks no one else will, Tokito will more than willingly stand his ground in what he believes in and even fight for it in some cases.

[ Strengths/Weaknesses ] :
STRENGTHS:
Physical: On a physical level, Tokito is quite strong. Despite his size, he's more powerful than most guys. Not without reason though, while his size does deceive, his strength is really unnatural. It is brought upon by his beast hand. It allows him to break cuffs, and rip out street signs. He can even punch a door down with little effort. A simple clench of his grip and he can break your bones without even realizing it until it's too late. Tokito is also athletic to some degree. He is able to keep up a chance and has reasonable stamina for someone who doesn't work out as often.

Along with his strength is his sturdiness. Whether he grew use it to before Kubota picked him up or after still hasn't been made known. It is obvious, however, that he can definitely take a beating which would knock most normal humans out. He can even remain conscious and coherent through substantial blood loss, this is made obvious when he was violently interrogated by the Izumo Youth Group. Even with head trauma injury that was serious enough to make him bleed he was still conscious- though barely. He's very capable of blacking out, but even when awakened it as if he never did.

Emotional: As previously stated, Tokito is headstrong. It takes a lot to push him down and keep him there. Very little can be done to change it and it's this determination alone as to why he probably hasn't given up living. There were plenty of opportunities he could have let himself die, but in the end he chose to live. Like any natural survivalist, he is aware that others must die in order for him to survive at times, and he doesn't at all seem too troubled by this from time to time. It's likely the security given to him by Kubota that helps him make this decision.

He is also an optimist. Tokito is easy to please and easy to keep happy. It doesn't take much to do this and he enjoys the small things in life. Tokito can be pessimistic at times, but he generally sees the cup as half full, while Kubota tends to do the opposite. (They offset each other rather well like this.)

WEAKNESSES:
Physical: Yes, Tokito is strong, and yes his looks are deceiving. Really only his right arm holds any strength. The rest of his body compliments just how powerful he really is, and that's not all that strong. Tokito only comes up to little over five feet tall and he has little to no muscle mass. Tokito is mere skin and bone despite the fact that he eats more sweets in a day than most people do in an entire week.

Like every other person in his world, Tokito too, is also human. He's very capable of breaking and dying. He holds not particular immunity to anything and is just as susceptible to poison or other various things. He heals just as quickly as the next person and minus his right hand, isn't exceptionally different from anyone else.

Arguably a strength, is his system that strongly rejects chemicals and other various medicines. It's most likely linked to the cause of his right hand. Whatever the case, it still remains that his body doesn't accept anything of the sort, to the point where he will vomit anything given to him whether it bed by blood or by sent. It only has a weak effect before it eventually wears off.

Emotional: Tokito is independent at times, and emotionally strong, but still relatively unstable. He also as a strong dependency for Kubota, making him practically incompatible with just about everyone else. He also cannot stomach the thought of abandonment which alludes to an element of co-dependency. This dependency of his is his drive and admittedly it's a bit of an unhealthy one because Kubota won't always be there to be beside him. Tokito hasn't fully grasped this concept yet because he's had no reason to.

His amnesia is a weakness in of its own. He no recollection of his past before Kubota and any attempt to remember is either forgotten shortly after or sends him into a violent frenzy which is also forgotten after he snaps out of it. This lack of knowledge for the world makes him terribly naive and ignorant about almost everything. This leaves him prone to believe almost anything if its convincing enough. Tokito isn't exactly street or book smart either, so he's rather vulnerable overall.

[ Sample ] :
"What the-?! I'm back here already?" He glimpsed around momentarily. This most certainly was the same place. It wasn't as if he knew any other cities that were underwater. "Hey, Kubo-chan! Are you here this time?" Tokito called out as he paced around, making the effort to look for him. Since he knew what was going on, he wasn't as prone to blowing up like he did the first time. "Tch. Is it just me again? That sucks!" Now what was he suppose to do? It wasn't as if he even really made friends the first time.

Tokito picked up the SFC that was left with him. It wasn't that hard to remember how to use it, so he easily accessed the contact list and began to scroll through all of the names. Johnny's was still there, and that Minato guy he met. There was Yukari too! He was slightly relieved that some of the people he bothered to know was still there. "I wonder if I should call any of them." He pondered to himself. Ultimately, he decided against it and figured it would be better to seek one of them out in person. Vatheon wasn't that big, and at least this way he can readjust more quickly.

"Did anything change since I left?" It doesn't look like it. There were many unfamiliar names on the list, but he expected that much to begin with. As well as others leaving after he did. There was no doubt more would pop up if he did.

"This sucks!" Sure, Yokohama wasn't the best place to be right now, and true he was safer here, but Kubota was still back home without the faintest idea he was gone, and there was no telling how long this place will stay safe before it becomes a threat.
