Have a drink on me (RP for heil_hans)

The Loft was good for hanging out and having a roaring good time when Marcus wanted to escape his normal life. In the Loft he was just a guy, a bit of a sensitive, short tempered one, but he was just another one of the crowd. He was no one's leader, no one's savior. He was responsible for only himself, and didn't have to answer to anyone. In the Loft, however, dwell certain people. Certain people who tend to judge and criticize.

This was precisely why Marcus didn't choose the Loft for this afternoon's visit.

There was a nice little restaurant in the town. Well, it was more of a tavern. Food, beer, probably sports on the weekends. He'd never been here before, but passed by it several times during walks through the town. Might as well try it, right?

He sat in the back, slumped down in a booth with his boots up on the seat across from him. His arms were folded and he was watching the crowd. The wolf inside was nervous. Too many strangers. Normally this wasn't such an issue, but with the week he'd had, he was on edge. He knew no one would hurt him here, but tell that to the wild animal.

Feeling the need for greasy, disgusting food, he had a plate of cheese fries in front of him that he was idly picking at as he waited. Mostly, though, it was growing cold. Just something to do with his hands that wasn't smoking, which was a habit he was considering trying to kick. Things weren't looking good on that front.

He was early, he knew that, but he couldn't sit around any more. It had been a busy few days. This morning marked the fourth day in a row he shifted, which was something he'd never done before. Frankly, this left him exhausted, irritable, and slightly out of his head. There is a very fine line between a human's logical mind and a wolf's instinct. He was standing on the line, not sure which way to turn.

But it was for a good reason. His senses were sharper in that form and he was able to run farther distances. He would take tomorrow off, sleep off the wolf, and try and be human again. Maybe.

He tilted his head back against the old wooden bench and let his eyes close. This did not shut out the sounds and smells assaulting him, in fact it made them louder, but it helped nonetheless.
