I witnessed a lie today; and perhaps by keeping quiet, I was a party to one. It was a harmless white lie, the type that you see in a sitcom. I even got the momentary glare that silently said all sorts of things to me like "Don't you dare out me.", "It's a lot easier this way" and "The truth provides no benefit". I expect, unlike a sitcom, there to be no repercussions; nor will I ever be asked to comment on the statement. It still felt all sorts of awkward when I heard the "no" when I knew "yes" to be the truthful answer.
