The Perfect Analogy

"It's like you love apples, but you hate oranges. But they only offer apples covered in oranges."

...right. So am I the apple or the orange?

I think I've come up with something better.

It's like the locked door in the attic that we've all tried to tamper with, but it doesn't open for anyone. On the other side of the antique door is the perfect world where things have the tendency to work themselves out, and we're stuck on this side in the real world.
Three years ago we were given a key that fits in the lock but never rotates.
So, we place the key in a dresser drawer and every so often we remember the door in the attic, and we take the key out to give it another try.

so. I think this is the first time. ever. that we've wanted the same thing.
And luckily for us, our timing still sucks.
luckily.
Because it's probably a good thing.

But honestly, what a strange feeling.
