Alinea Book ~ "Manipulation Is Not a Dirty Word"

It has finally arrived! It was 3 weeks late due to customs, but it was worth the wait!

There are so many things that make this book vastly superior. For example, every recipe contains a large detailed photograph, which is a HUGE plus because his presentation are quirky, colourful, clean and attractive. Nothing pains me more than reading a beautiful recipe but don't actually see what it looks like.

What's amazing is how much his style of cooking wants me to twist my style as well. I'll probably won't exactly go too far like what he did with calcium chloride and sodium alginate. But things like truffle explosion what really got me. Simple and yet.. playful. All it is is truffle stock that has been gelled and wrapped into a ravioli. Simple. Except you need years of experience in pasta dough, then you're set.

And best of all... Grant signed the book. =)
