I read a few blogs regularly, and one is Trent Hamm's
The Simple Dollar. Today he mentioned how his wife keeps a journal and, every night,
she writes down the best moment of her day. It helps her focus on the positive, not the negative.
As a chronic depressive, I think that sounds like a fabulous idea. Instead of fretting over money, the world going to hell, my weight, or my stalled book, I can take a moment to actually look at, and note, the positive. And there is a lot of positive, if I just make myself look at it.
So I've decided to start a new blog just for these observations called the
Best Moment, Today! It's a LJ blog - if it's successful, I might maintain
a sister blogger site. I'm not guaranteeing that my best moments will always be politically correct, or suitable family fare, but they should be upbeat and encouraging. Hopefully. ;)
I'll start posting tonight - well the wee hours of the morning - before I go to bed. :)
