Star Trek Spasm
So I just got back from seeing Star Trek for the first time with my dad (a hard core treky of the original series variety). It was unbelievably amazing!!!!!
Chris Pine was perfect as Kirk and he is just so awesomely gorgeous *drools*
ZQ was so adorable as Spock, he was just so cute I wanted to pinch his cheeks (his facial cheeks you perves... okay the other ones too lol)
Uhura was so perfect, although her and Spock was so random, but I kinda loved it.
The whole time I was watching the movie I was like why in the hell does Nero look so familiar. I know his face, I just cant place it, which of course, me being me I had to Imdb him as soon as I got home, and lo and behold it was the amazingly gorgeous and awesomely talented ERIC BANA (LOVE HIM)
Sulu, Chekov, and Scott were all perfectly cast. The understated comedy was just brilliant.
But my FTW character was Bones. He was so freaking perfect, words cannot describe. He was gorgeous and his sarcasm was awesomely perfect *flails*
Where the hell did Winona Ryder and Tyler Perry come from. Most random casting ever, but I loved it nonetheless. oh and Kirk's mom was Cameron from House!! that cracked me up. and his father... damn he was hot *fans self*
Also totally called it was going to be Nimoy in the cave when we saw his back and i was so excited.
I loved the repeat of classic lines such as "set phasers on stun" and "I'm giving her all I've got." I kept waiting for "computer, computer, oh a keyboard how quaint"
My only issue with the movie was the several Star Wars-esque scenes such as the snow planet and the battle between Kirk and Nero with the hand clutching his throat hanging him over a dark precipice, there was another but I don't remember what it was. it just was kind of frustrating because they are two wholly separate movies and plots. They shouldn't have mixed, but cest la vie.
My dad being the hardcore treky that he is was quite pissed about them blowing up Vulcan. he felt that it was completely "bastardizing the story" (that's a direct quote) He wanted them to go forward in time and prevent the thing from happening in the first place which isn't possible I just realized as I am typing this *Runs down to tell him*
okay, i think thats all. i want to see it again!!!!!!!!!!
