My art submission for Inception Reverse Bang 2014: Victorian Illusionists AU.
Inspiration:
(Vaguely) visually inspired by the mood of the films Prestige, The Illusionist and Martin Scorsese's Dracula. I used a dancer's figure from Max Slevogt's "Totentanz" as a template for Mal's dance in a dream (which is a dreamscape of John Atkinson Grimshaw's Roundhay Lake painting). The panels: " "Dom performing his pipe smoke magic", "Eames knows what yall are thinking of...", "cinematograph will give you wings" and "Arthur sees (to) everything!" are haphazard manips and blends of dozens of details from dozens of pictures, mostly seen on Tumblr: [x] [x] [x] [x]...and others.
The result is kinda gloomy but it was claimed by the lovelylittle_passions who write this awesome fic for it: Playing the Fool ! :)
