Hello Everyone!
I am finally back at CEF Headquarters! I was going to keep updating while I was home but there really wasn't too much going on. I helped teach a Good News Club in Dorchester and kept busy working at LifeCare Center in the kitchen. I also volunteered at Jordan Hospital with my nana on Wednesday mornings.
After graduating from CMI (with my bill completely paid!) in November, it was great to be back home. It was a little strange at first not having a daily schedule, but it was nice to just relax. After Thanksgiving though, most of my friends were back at college so it was a little weird to be home when everyone else was still at school.
It's good to be back, though. My flight left at 10 am from Providence and I stopped in Chicago. Because of the ice St. Louis was having, I was hoping my flight wouldn't be delayed. Thankfully, it wasn't, and my flight left on time and landed in St. Louis at 3:20.
It's good to see familiar faces here- a lot different than the first time I came for CMI, when I knew no one here! I've been catching up with friends about how our vacations were and we're all excited to see each other again so it's nice.
I unpacked all of my things last night which is a relief because I hate having things lying around and out so it's nice to be settled in already.
Tonight I have my first Fast Track meeting (orientation) over dinner and tomorrow we'll start cleaning and getting things ready for CMI which starts Thursday. The students arrive Wednesday and my friend Amy who I worked with in Boston this summer is coming so I am excited to see her.
We're "iced" in today, so I'm pretty sure no one here is going to church. The roads are all icy and the trees are frozen- it looks pretty cool. Even the blades of grass are individually frozen. It's new to me since we don't really get that in Massachusetts. Anyway, we're thinking of having our own little church service here.
Well, I suppose that's all for now. I'll update later on what's going on here.
Love,
Tamara
