(no subject)
Hello everyone,
I apologize for how long this entry is going to be, but I've got lots to update on! Sorry I didn't write for almost a week!- I've been really busy. Anyway, I won't bore you with a detailed update on every day this week, I'll just give you the major things that happened this week. I don't know if I mentioned this before (I can't keep track of what I've written and haven't written) but there was a stray cat here at CMI and we took it in! It was here for about a week and we wanted to let it in so bad but we didn't have permission to. Finally the director let us take it in and keep it here in a spare room. We got a cat carrier from some of the instructors and got some food and litter for her, and a box to put the litter in. She was so cute, she was black with some orange and she was so friendly. During the day on my breaks between classes I'd go in and see her and she was so happy to have some company. But after a day or two a guy who works here took her home. It's nice to know she has a home now, though. Anyway, let's see.. Wednesday we had "Christmas in October" for prayer meeting and we sang Christmas carols and it was wonderful. I can't wait for Christmas this year, but am even more looking forward to just going home. I'm loving it here and not experiencing too much homesickness, but I do miss my family and am looking forward to going home. Anyway, one of our instructors, Lisa, is very musically inclined, and so are her parents, who happened to be visiting on Wednesday. Her dad played the piano and he was a really great pianist. He did his own version of We Three Kings and it was awesome. Lisa and her mom led singing and it was really cool. This weekend my friend Grace and I house sat for Lisa and her husband as they went on vacation. They have three cats so it was kinda nice to be around cats again all weekend since I haven't really been besides the stray cat that was here. I miss my cat back home, though.
Friday we had Untalent night and it was awesome. I was in a skit about prayer and everyone thought it was pretty funny. The audience was cracking up and I was trying so hard not to laugh on stage. I also sang "Shout to the Lord" and signed it with two other girls. There were a bunch of other skits and musical acts and some of them were really funny, but the funniest one was when 3 people did this lunch lady song. This guy that works in the kitchen dressed up in a dress and hair net and put a mole on his face and wore make up and it was HILARIOUS! I don't think I've ever laughed harder in my life! I had to get out my inhaler I was laughing so hard I had trouble breathing. The whole night was great.
Yesterday I learned how to knit! I went to Wal-Mart and bought myself some yarn and some needles and some of the girls here taught me to knit! There were a few who came and already knew how to but they're teaching a bunch of us and it's like a new trend here. I'm making a scarf right now.
Anyway, not too much else to update on. Other than that I have a practicum tomorrow morning. I have to team-teach a 40-minute seminar on Managing Your Classroom with my friend Jon. We practiced it today and it went really smoothly- we work really well together as a team, so I'm confident about tomorrow. Pray that it will go well! Anyway, that's all for now.
