All I can say is - wow. I absolutely loved it. It was everything I believe a movie should be (even if the plot is a bit cliche) - it was spectacular, beautiful and epic, with a nice story that didn't leave me in a weird feeling (like so many other movies lately) and I left the theater with a huge grin.
I don't know if I've written about the first time I was supposed to go see it - to make a long story short, I should have had the car at 18:00, I only had it at 19:00, and in combination with traffic I never made it to the movies, having taking more than 1.5 hours to make a ride that should take 30 minutes. I can't even begin to emphasize my annoyance, so, this time was made to fix it. And it did.
I'll probably go see it again, and drag my parents with me (my mom is nuts over 3D).
I also went to see Where the Wild Things Are. This one wasn't as good. I mean, it's a nice story, and the kid who played Max obviously had huge fun while filming, but the point of the movie is, well... There isn't one. I never read the book when I was a kid, but I ran into it a few weeks ago in a book store, and well, the book doesn't have a point (Max is bad, he's being sent to bed without dinner, he gets angry, sails to where the wild things are, becomes their king, comes back and eats his dinner). With the exception of having some plot in the island, the movie ain't different. It's small, and minimalist in nature (not in filming - that is quite brilliant), and I left the theater feeling, well, weird... and I won't go to see it again.
