I left work last night to catch the 17:15 bus, which came on time but took almost 45 minutes to get to Holon. I was hot and sticky when I got off, because it was a bus with huge windows which kept the a.c. from actually making a difference. I also had a fat smelly passenger on the seat next to me.
God, people just don't understand the importance of deodorant...
Anyway, I managed to get organized in less than 15 minutes (changing my shirt, going to the bathroom, eating Milky and getting all the stuff I needed stuffed inside my pockets so I wouldn't need a bag) and left the house at 18:13, and waited for Liat, her sister and a friend of her sister for another 15 minutes (needless to say, I thought that was annoying, because they had all day to get ready and I still had to wait for them). After 15 minutes in the cool car I was less annoyed, though, so when they arrived i was my charming self (yes, I can actually see some of you snickering).
We got to Ra'anana in 30 minutes or so, but had to walk to the amphitheater for another 20-25 minutes because I parked well outside of range (it helped after the show). By the time we got to the place we were, again, hot sweaty and sticky, in dire need of water and to go to the bathroom. Luckily for us, after getting inside the perimeter the lines for them both were bearable and we got to pee and get drinks in about ten minutes (and a few slices of pizza as well), after which we went to find a good spot inside the crowd.
"Synergia" were the warming act. They were fine, really nice, but you really can't compare them to Evanescence... When the player got on the stage I thought there can't be anymore noise, but there was - when Amy-Li got on the stage. She was unbelievable - so much energy, so much power, such a voice!
The show wasn't long, if you count only the singing time (Synergia gave 5-6 songs, Evanescence gave about 12), but between the two there were about 30 minutes of waiting while the crew got the stage ready.
The weather was horrid, humid and hot, not to mention the fact we were in the middle of 200 people, all of them really hot, sweaty and smelly.
I didn't mind much. It was so worth it.
I think they played about 4-5 songs from the new album (including "Lithium" and "Call me when you're sober") and the rest was from "Fallen" - "Going under", "Imaginary", "Whisper" and of course "Bring me to life" (divine. Absolutely divine) and as an encore - "My immortal". I was hyped throughout the whole show, and the good feeling leaked into today as well.
I got home at 23:30 and started looking for something to eat, as I was really hungry, and after sitting down for ten minutes I went to take a quick shower. I went to sleep at about midnight.
I went to sleep without a blanket and with the a.c. on, and I was thrown into a vivid dream as I hadn't had in a long time. I dreamed I was one out of three girls who made another, younger black girl die. I saw what we did - we were in a big store and we were stealing something, and she saw us, so we locked her inside the store after hours and she somehow suffocated. So we ran. We bought train tickets (I can see them now - big old fashioned, with old printing, cream colored tickets) and we got off at some station, and... Well, I remember a blur of things happening, we got separated somehow and one of us wanted to go to the police and tell about what we did, and it was all set in the 1940' or 30', in the U.S., but the people had English accents. I woke up when I was cold and made to remember the dream so I could write it in the morning.
Since I'm leaving on Monday I had to get a new credit card for the trip, plus there were some issues I had to get sorted, so I wen tot the bank this morning. Got there before they opened and managed to get the second number for my banker. I sat quietly, waiting, looking at the stressed people who hovered around the cubicles, when he called my name and then this woman comes and says "But I'm next!" and he's trying to explain to her that the line is set in the computer according to us getting the numbers with our credit cards on the entrance, and she goes on and on about how little time she has (jee-wees, we all have all the time in the world, you think?!?!), so in the end I went over to another banker who could take me and she went to see my banker. I said to the girl who was serving me - "Everybody's time is the most expansive. I have to get to work as well, you know!". I finished my business there in half an hour and departed. Bought a few chocolate pastries on the way and managed to catch the same bus I usually get on (only on a different station), and lo and behold - I had sitting place, even next to the window. A few songs after that I was already at work.
Had some work to do, but I'm mostly doing nothing. Had a very productive day yesterday, because I managed to get ahead in a story I've been writing for a while now, and it was nice to feel it flow.
