This prompt. Finn discovers that Kurt’s bed is almost definitely magical; at least, sleeping there always makes him feel better. (Obviously, given the stuff I write, I got permission to keep it brotherly.)

Oh, I love this so much. They're so full of issues and flaws and prickly spots, and of course I always adore scenes with Kurt taking care of Finn, but I also love exploring how that dynamic works out when there isn't actually a crisis happening and they actually have to talk, not just make grand (if totally genuine) gestures. Rachel was also awesome and so spot-on. (I admit to being kind of really confused by the timeline for the first few, because it seemed like they were all happening really, really close together, but possibly I've just put so much thought into my fanon timeline that I've forgotten which parts aren't real.)

I think my favorite thing is how it starts out being really explicit about Finn's issues, both Kurt-related and in general, and as those are starting to steadily resolve, the heretofore-never-quite-explicit thread of Kurt's issues bursts to the forefront with one moment where everything cracks. That's just so...them. And such a neat structure.

Oh, and to step outside my objective neutral everyone-is-equally-flawed standpoint for a moment and give into favoritism, this: Kurt smiles back. “It’s fine. I owe you - the wedding thing…” absolutely broke my heart. Just...oh. Kurt. Thinking he owes Finn for stepping up. Because he would.

(I shall be clearer about such things in future; this story was nothing if not a learning experience. It all has to fit between right after "Furt," when I've moved them into the Hummels' house for the first piece, and sometime a little after "A Very Glee Christmas", if that helps, so... not a huge amount of time, really, but there was some kind of canon gap between "Special Education" and "Glee Xmas" right, so that gives me more wiggle room.)

Anyway THANK YOU, muchísimas gracias, really! You're are so quick and lovely and kind, it's wonderful! Also, I'm relieved as all frack that some kind of structure came through here, because if I had written this all before posting it, more structure is something I definitely would have given it. So that what is there worked... very wonderful to hear. And their issues are just always fun to write about, they overlap in such fun ways.

(Yeah, pobrecito has so many issues there - what's just decent treatment and what's special. I can't even get over him falling for Finn because of some half-assed attempts to... not even stop the bullying, just... oh, god, poor thing.)
